Spearheading CRU’s fund raising are Rhona Marshall and Barbara Koffman.

Rhona has visited Uganda every year since 1995. In January 1997 Rhona gave up her full time job to concentrate on raising the awareness of the plight of the children in Uganda, and has with great enthusiasm raised CRU’s profile, and played a great part in increasing our annual income from a few thousand to over £117,000 in 2003 and increasing each year. The year 2007 saw CRU's total income, since its beginnings in 1996, pass the £1 Million mark!

Rhona was joined by Barbara Koffman who leads on the Dental Projects and shares the fundraising load with Rhona.

You can ask Rhona or Barbara to come and present the work to your church, school or group. They will bring presentations and artefacts that brings the work in Uganda to life, enabling young and old alike to feel a part of the experience. They have spoken to children of all ages at both primary and secondary school level, whether in the classroom or whole school assemblies, and a very wide variety of community groups. Distance is not a problem.

In addition to Rhona and Barbara’s efforts we raise funds through:

+ One-off fundraising events such as Quiz Nights, Hoe Down’s, Concerts and Art Auctions. Click here for forthcoming events.

+ Sale of crafts & Gift Certificates, and increasingly

+ Nomination by schools and other organisations as their “Charity for the Year” etc.

+ Volunteer Support – through personal or small group fundraising and sponsorship often linked to a trip to Uganda.
