We all had a wonderful night dancing to the newly formed band and eating a delicious buffet, many people purchased Ugandan crafts and we raised £333-67 on the night. The 'New Heritage Ceilidh Band' performed for the first time together. The band members from left to right; are Mike Smith, Gordon McDonald, Andy Bayley, Linda Simock & Bob Siddall. Reg Battle on the far right is NOT part of the band but is the caller. Click on the picture to see all the band members.

The event including the cheese & wine in the evening, was a great success for CRU. Thank you to all who supported us and especially to those who helped.
We would like to express our gratitude to Andrew who worked very hard and long on behalf of the charity
Mont Blanc Climb
Sponsorship in aid of CRU reached new heights in summer 2006 when intrepid Steve Tomkinson, his 17 year old son Oliver and his 2 friends Tony Goodier and Norman Reece successfully climbed Mont Blanc in June. Schools Stories
+ Students at Poynton High School donated about 40 pairs of football boots to Rhona Jan 2008.
+ Class 5 at St. Peter's Primary in Nottinghamshire, raised a staggering £316.76 towards school fees & school meals! Having learned what life was like for children in Kamuli they decided to help by organising (all by themselves) a fund raising evening. Their teacher is understandably very proud of what they achieved. CRU is very grateful & bowled over by their effort to help others. This is one of the many great fund raising efforts made by schools around the country, who regularly send donations as a result of collections made during their term events.
Our grateful thanks go to Tutshill C of E School of Chepstow, Crickhowell High School, Tytherington High School and from Poynton; Vernon Junior and Infant Schools and Hollies Pre-school. Sorry, if I've left anyone out. Please contact us if you have a item you would like to go on the web.
