CRU is a UK charity which raises money to help children and families in a small underprivileged community, in the Kamuli district of Busoga, Uganda. Support is channelled largely through Maria's Care. The compound at Maria's Care houses a primary school (KPPS) with a pre-school and a deaf unit. It also contains a vocational training school - 'Training School of Life Skills' (TSOLS). We also support many children to go to local primary schools and then to go on to secondary and vocational training colleges. Our village animal projects seek to help families become self-sufficient. In addition, we have dental & health projects in the surrounding areas. A new dental clinic has been opened in
Namwenda and a rural health clinic is nearing completion in Kyeeya. |

Main focus of work of the charity: To relieve poverty and hardship for orphans and also widows mainly in Africa. The charity is supporting orphans in Africa, mainly in Uganda, to enable them to have hope and a secure future. We provide funds for food, clothing, school fees and medical aid. We have undertaken a new project in Lweru Village where we have purchased an orphanage with land, with necessary works having been carried out to provide a permanent home for the orphans. The next part of the project will be to build a school, a church and to provide them with water storage and solar power. Our aim is to help them become more self-sufficient as they work the land, growing food for themselves and also to give hope and encourage those who live in the village. We believe that God will prosper the work of his own hands and we endeavour to do His will in the lives of these children. |
